For 16 years, I was immersed in the world of higher education in several capacities, including the Associate Vice President of Student Life and then the Vice President of Admissions and Marketing for the Undergraduate College.
In every role, I’ve worked to guide students, support families, and navigate the ever‑changing landscape of college admission and success. One thing research and experience agree on is that your personality [how you’re wired and how you communicate with others] has an enormous impact on how you come out on the other side. Studies show that traits like conscientiousness, openness, and emotional stability explain a meaningful share of differences in GPA, engagement, and persistence, and that students who understand and align their communication style with their personality tend to navigate college more successfully. This workshop helps families recognize that pattern and use it to intentionally support their student.
The experience is designed to help your family prepare for a major change and to guide your student into a new season with a better understanding of themselves and an excitement about the purpose + path ahead.
