Sending a student to college can be daunting.
Now, there’s A workshop to guide youR FAMILY through this next season.
For 16 years, I was immersed in the world of higher education in several capacities, including the Associate Vice President of Student Life and then the Vice President of Undergraduate Admissions and Marketing.
In every role, I’ve worked to guide students, support families, and navigate the ever-changing landscape of college admission and success. One thing I’ve learned is that your personality — how you’re wired and how you communicate with others— has an enormous impact on how you come out on the other side.
Now, I’m bringing my experience directly to you with a workshop designed to help your family prepare for a huge change as well as to guide your student into a new season with an understanding of themselves and an excitement about the purpose + path they have in front of them.
Whether you're a student wondering how to prepare or a parent trying to decode the process, I’ll give you insights, practical strategies, and the confidence to move forward, all with the common language of the 5 Voices framework
This isn’t about where to go to college and what to major in—it’s about setting your family up for success from day one. From the way you communicate now and throughout this next season to the way your student adjusts to a life of more independence. You’ll leave with a foundation that will make a huge difference in the months and years to come.
Let’s make the transition to college smoother, smarter, and way less overwhelming at your house.
“Very thought provoking morning, gave us a lot to think about a reflect on.”
“Marian was engaging and interesting. She took a complicated topic and made it relevant and accessible for me, my husband, and our teen son. We came out of the class with better direction for communication and a shared language to use in the future.
I would highly recommend Purpose+Path to a family with teens approaching launch into adulthood.”
“Marian, you are fantastic. I count it a blessing to have experienced this with you. Super practical and honest direction for our family!”
“I really felt like Marian was for us. She gave us tools that are relatable and easy to use. We immediately put to practice what we learned at lunch after our session. We’re looking forward to working through the workbook as a family.”

-
Academic pathway.
Choosing a major or field of study is a daunting task that involves weighing interests, career goals, and personal strengths while also deciding on the type of institution— a large university, small liberal arts college, community college, or technical school. These are big decisions and a guide makes all the difference.
-
family relationships.
The interactions of parent and student personalities shape the college journey and your family going forward. With each step roles evolve as parents begin to move from parenting to coaching and students shift to increased independence. Gaining insight into how you’re wired and how you can make decisions together, helps you stay in step and in relationship.
-
Life purpose.
Your life purpose is the compass that turns the chaos of college choices into a map of meaning. Though it will likely evolve and flourish in the years to come, creating a vision for the future is what transforms a major from a mere subject into a passion, illuminating the path where your heart and mind align. We’ll guide you through discovery, ensuring your college journey isn’t just a step but a leap toward the life you’re meant to live.
